Step by Step Instructions |
1. Combine your carrier oil of choice (or herb infused oil: learn how here) and your beeswax into a heat proof glass beaker.
2. Next place the glass beaker into a pot with around 2-3 inches of water (double broiler).
3. Melt over low- medium heat. This should be done over 15-30 minutes, keeping a close eye on it.
4. Remove from heat and cool to 165 degrees fahrenheit.
5. While your lip balm is cooling, get your lip balm tray like this or a small short lip balm jar ready for the pour.
6. Once the temperature is cool, then pour into your desired vessel. If you pour while it is too hot, it will leave a small hole on the top of your lip balm in the lip balm tubes.
( Many add vitamin E oil as an oil preservative, this is optional if you are using a carrier oil with high vitamin E content.)
