Herbbotany was created by a new mom of two, struggling with postpartum cystic acne. As a studying Herbalist and on-going natural product enthusiast, I had already been deep in the archives of herbal skincare for a while. Though it began as a way to provide relief to my family's skin, it turned into the beginning of finding out what has been naturally and beautifully provided for our overall skin health.

(Arctium lappa) is often used to promote skin health. It is believed to support inflammation reduction and have antibacterial properties, making it beneficial for conditions like eczema, acne, psoriasis and dry, itchy skin. It can be applied topically. It has also been known to help hair growth, as it has a healthy dose of amino acids, vitamin a, iron and potassium.
St. John's Wort
St. John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum) is an age old herb known for the herbs ability to support and aid damaged nerves. It is a superior herb for bruises, burns and any small injuries to the skin.
St. John's Wort contains antioxidants and may help 'plump' fine lines, aid dark spots and help facial redness. It is also good for dry skin and skin abrasions.
(Calendula officinalis) Is great for supporting a youthful, radiant look. One of the primary uses of calendula is for skin health. It is often used topically in the form of creams, ointments or salves to treat minor skin irritations, including cuts, burns, insect bites, rashes and acne. Calendula can help reduce inflammation and help diminish fine lines.
Red Roses (Rosa)
(Rosa) are rich in antioxidants, such as vitamin c, which can help protect the skin from free radical damage. Antioxidants are crucial for maintaining youthful and healthy looking skin. These antioxidants may also help prevent and reduce the appearance of the signs of aging, such as fine lines and wrinkles. It is known for its rejuvenating properties.
(Matricaria chamomilla or Matricaria recutita) supports inflammation reduction and has antioxidant properties, making it beneficial for skin care. It can be used topically to soothe skin irritations, such as rashes, sunburn and insect bites. It is great for itch relief as well.
(Sambucus) is rich in antioxidants, vitamins (especially vitamin a and vitamin c) and essential fatty acids, which can help nourish and moisturize the skin. It may be used to diminish acne, reduce inflammation, help fine lines and may give a radiant complexion. The antioxidants in elderberry oil can also help protect the skin from environmental damage.
(Avena Sativa) Is particularly known for its soothing and calming properties, making it suitable for various skin types, especially sensitive or irritated skin. It helps restore moisture to the skin barrier, boost collagen production and help hyperpigmentation due to it high beta-glucan content (a natural fiber)
(Helianthus annuus) is rich in vitamin e, a & c which can help nourish and hydrate the skin, repair the skin barrier, aid in hair growth and help prevent acne. It is non pore clogging and can be used alone or as a infusion base for herbs.
(Camellia sinensis) is rich in antioxidants, polyphenols and other bioactive compounds. Green tea may help control acne by regulating sebum production, reducing inflammation and fighting the bacteria associated with acne breakouts. It is also very beneficial for fine lines and wrinkles due to its vitamin c, vitamin e, vitamin b2, folic acid and beta-carotene content.
Poplar Bud (Cottonwood)
(Populus) Poplar bud oils and salves are great for their skin-soothing and potential wound-healing properties. They are great for easing redness in the skin as well as soothing muscle aches. They can also be applied to minor cuts, burns, insect bites and skin irritations. They contain compounds that assist in inflammation reduction.
Glycerin can contribute to a healthy skin barrier by preventing moisture loss and protecting the skin from external irritants. This is particularly important for maintaining overall skin health.
(Lavendula) has natural antibacterial and antifungal properties, which can help combat acne-causing bacteria and help infections in minor cuts and wounds. It can also help balance oily skin by acting as a mild astringent. The antioxidants can help protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals and oxidative stress.
Xanthan gum is used primarily as a thickening agent in a wide range of products. It can add viscosity and provide a smooth texture. It also helps stabilize and prevent the separation of ingredients.
d-alpha-tocopherol is vitamin e, a fat soluble antioxidant. Vitamin e plays a crucial role in maintaining the health of your skin and body. d-Alpha-tocopherol is commonly used in various skincare and cosmetic products as a way to extend the life of oils and water free products.
A surfactant. Coco glucoside is valued for its ability to cleanse the skin and hair without causing excessive dryness or irritation. It is often used in gentle and hydrating cleansers. It is derived from coconut.
Citric acid is a weak organic acid naturally found in citrus fruits like lemons, limes, oranges and grapefruits. Citric acid is often used as a pH regulator in cosmetic and skincare products. It helps maintain the product's pH level, ensuring it falls within the desired range for effectiveness and safety.
Beeswax is an excellent emollient. This means it helps to lock in moisture, keep the skin hydrated and prevent dryness. It forms a protective barrier on the skin, preventing moisture loss. This makes it beneficial for individuals with sensitive or dry skin.
(Maranta arundinacea) in ointments and salves is used to cut through the greasy appearance and feel. This allows the product to feel lighter upon application.

We use a natural preservative providing broad-spectrum protection against bacteria, yeast and mold.
Made up of Cocos nucifera (Coconut) with Lactobacillus (a natural radish root fermented bacteria, usually found in kimchi)
